A Journal of Transition to Primal Abundance

I’ve noticed some changes in my eating habits as I’ve gone along being usually 80% raw now since March of this year.
I’ve been gravitating more towards juices and salads, and less to heavier things like pate’.
More simple preparation, less complex recipes, more fresh, less dehydrated or soaked.More vegetables, less sweet fruit, though I still nosh on dates (non-mejool variety), figs, and a handful of raw almonds from time to time, but not every day. Tomatoes (a “non-sweet” fruit) taste incredibly sweet to me, especially the ones from the garden or the heirlooms I get at the local organic grocer.
I suppose since I am eating those every day, it may explain my lack of a “sweet tooth”.
Weight loss has been a series of plateaus, I think because of my having to still take steroids for asthma, but I’ve kept twenty lbs. off and that’s not a small feat.
Things I’ve gone off the wagon for:
Fresh homemade bread (I still make it for my spouse)
A glass of good chardonnay.
And yes (sigh!) I have gone off the wagon for medium rare lamb chops, but only once or twice.
Other than a few occurances, I’ve been able to pretty much stay raw, week after week, month after month, and love it.

Average day:

Morning juice of carrot, celery, tomato, cucumber, parsley, with a teaspoon of spirulina (potent stuff!) and 2 tbsps flax seed ground up in a coffee grinder.
I put it in one of those inexpensive shaker glasses, shake it up and drink it down.

Midmorning:
Simple salad of Romaine, tomatoes, cucumber, grated carrot, a bit of sea salt and pepper, olive oil, juice of ½ a lime.

Midafternoon:
A snack of melon or other fruit, or an apple and celery stalk and almond butter, or dates, figs, and almonds.

Afternoon:
Simple salad of Romaine, tomatoes, cucumber, grated carrot, a bit of seasalt and pepper, olive oil, juice of ½ a lime. Ingredients will vary, but I work it around what I may have on hand.

Early evening:
If I am still hungry, I have another glass of juice, or a snack.

At least this is what I’ve been doing the last few weeks.

blueboywater Posted by Hello

It's way too smokey outside, so I'll have to do my exercising indoors.
I've been lately very encouraged that I'm able to walk my hour again, but the fires blazing north of here and polluting the air are preventing me today.
I have mixed feelings about brush fires.
On the one hand they are a terrible thing, doing so much damage, killing wildlife and even people, destroying their homes.
On the other hand, fires out in the wild have been happening for millenia as nature's way of re-balancing, clearing out junk.
I think of the Mount St. Helens volcanic erruption and how today plants and animals have come back and made a new start.
Change, one way or another seems to be a perennial constant.
One thing hasn't changed though, staying raw does wonders for a person!
Keys to ageless beauty:
Pure heart,
Positive mind,
Plenty of exercise,
Peaceful sleep,
Drink lots of water,
Eat raw.
Works every time.

It has been too long since I posted here.
Still raw (80-90%) but this summer has been quite a physical
roller coaster.
Doing a little better since I decided to follow the
guidelines in Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine, and lower
my intake of fruit and high glycemic stuff.
Doing MUCH better actually.
Summer's been ok, not as hot as last year, thank God/Goddess.
I'm developing a real appreciation for celery.
